Water Quality Monitoring and Testing

EcoDepot, LLC doesn’t just sell landscaping and erosion control products.  We also offer water quality monitoring and testing for ready mix concrete plant and mining operations.  We test for TSS (Total Suspended Solids) as well as settleable solids and pH.  The samples that we take are analyzed at a certified lab.  EPA and local requirements have become more stringent.  You want to make sure your plant or mining operation stays in compliance.  Heavy fines and/or imprisonment can be doled out as punishment for ignoring these mandates.  EcoDepot performs water quality monitoring tests during wet and dry periods.  A wet period is classified as a time when + .25 inches of precipitation has fallen within a 24 hour period.  This is when you would take a sample for settleable solids.  During dry periods you test for total suspended solids.  A wet and dry water quality monitoring test should be taken once a month.

Our pH Watchdog is used for pH regulation

Our patented pH Watchdog is a safe, simple, and cost effective system for regulating wastewater at concrete plants and mining operations.  NPDES requires that water discharged from a site must be in the neutral range.  The pH Watchdog uses sensors to find out when pH is too high, then releases sodium bisulfate into the washout pit or basin to lower the pH.  Once the ph reaches neutral the system shuts off.  You are now able to legally discharge the water off-site.  Sodium bisulfate is a dry, non hazardous chemical that is inexpensive and safe to handle.  Our pH Watchdog system sells for a fraction of what some systems cost, and they use sulfuric acid, a highly hazardous chemical.
